The mission at Vintage Wings Inc. is to create a flying classroom; A mobile living history museum. While static aircraft in museums serve a distinct and valuable purpose, a flying aircraft with all its sights, sounds and smells simply cannot be replicated. The C-53’s cabin will become a classroom with passenger seats using learning modules highlighting key points in its distinct history that align with key points in aviation history. Guests will see the significance of its role as a Military C-53 and how it helped win WWII and then as a DC-3A that created the model for the modern air transportation system.

Flying into airshows, fly-in's and other aviation related events, “Beach City Baby “will offer more than just a silent and empty cabin but a step into the past. Vintage Wings Inc’s core goal is to inspire future generations by telling the amazing history of 41-20095 as only it can.

After purchasing the aircraft in 2016, it took 2 years working every weekend year round to get our C-53 flyable after sitting dormant for 26 years. On October 6, 2018 C-53 41-20095 took to the skies for the first time as "Beach City Baby" with pilots Ian Hengst and Jason Capra at the controls. The aircraft landed one hour later at it's new home at Franklin-Venango Regional Airport where it's full restoration is taking place.
